Project Details:
Gamestar Mechanic is an online platform that provides tools and resources for learning game design and development. This free site will be used for students to explore and learn block coding. It is designed to teach game design principles to users, especially younger audiences, in a fun and interactive way. The platform allows users to create games, play games made by others, and learn about game design concepts.
Gamestar Mechanic is often used in educational settings to introduce students to the fundamentals of game design, problem-solving, and critical thinking. It employs a game-based approach to make learning about game design more engaging and accessible.
This project is an excellent introduction to block coding for students. This lesson was designed to have students explore the Scratch program, learn block coding basics, and create personal coding projects. They will then complete a Game Play Day activity, where they will all play each other's games and give feedback to their peers.
This project is infused with technology and real-world application and is designed to be engaging and rigorous. It is the perfect unit for any technology, computer, STEAM, or business class.
