Students need to stick to a spending plan to have an adequate budget. Tools such as online software, apps, and businesses can help students develop an intelligent spending plan for their budget. But essentially, all they need is a piece of paper or google sheets to map out a reasonable goal for themselves. During this project, students go through multiple steps to creating a budget and show how they can spend their money efficiently. In this project, students will set budget guidelines, shop for a house or vehicle, figure out bills and expenses with a budget template, shop for clothing, and miscellaneous items, answer reflection questions and create a presentation over their work. This project is infused with technology and real-world application and is designed to be engaging and rigorous. It is perfect for any business class.
