This unit plan covers the basics of economics for grades 7-12.
Unit Objectives:
With demonstrations and applications, students will have knowledge of economic systems and describe the characteristics of a market system.
Students will analyze and research the circular flow models.
Students will understand and compare the different types of economic systems and how entrepreneurs affect economics.
Students will be able to have knowledge of culture and how it plays a crucial role in economics.
Analyze existing economies and how they answer the following three basic economic questions every economic system must answer:
What goods and services should be produced?
How should goods and services be produced?
For whom should the goods and services be produced?
This unit is infused with technology, and real-world application and is designed to be engaging and rigorous. It is the perfect unit for any business class.
This unit plan is conducted through lectures, engaging activities, group-paced instruction, and discussion. Assignments range from a mix of daily assignments, time, projects graded on effort/attempt, overall appearance, completion of given requirements, and unit test.
