Activity Details:
When it comes to budgeting and spending it is essential that students have an understanding of how to break down their expenses into categories. In Part 1 of this activity students will categorize fixed and variable expenses. To help create a beneficial budget, it helps students to categorize by priority. In Part 2 students are going to categorize expenses into budgeting categories. Then in Part 3 students will discuss as a class where they categorized all their expenses to see how their categories could vary from person to person. After examining students' categories with their class, students will then answer reflection questions. This activity is infused with technology, and real-world application and is designed to be engaging and rigorous. These are perfect activities for any business class.
